Our Policy Statement

CIGL is committed to a Business Continuity Management (BCM) Framework that insures against strategic, operational, financial and stakeholder risks associated with service interruptions and critical incidents, specifically covered by four specialized areas: Crisis Management and Recovery, ICT Disaster Recovery, Incident Recovery and Emergency Response.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Group Managing Director (GMD) – The GMD has overall authority, as handed in by the Board, for BCM within CIGL and the subsidiaries however could delegate this Strategic responsibility to the Group Head Risk & Compliance (GHRC) to ensure implementation of this policy throughout CIGL and the subsidiaries in scope.

Business Continuity Team – This ensure appropriate structures are in place to implement effective BCM, monitor the implementation of this policy, raise issues of resource necessary for the adequate control of severe BCM risks at the appropriate budgetary area.

Incident Response Team – This team shall be responsible for a defined Business Critical Activity, manages and directs response to a serious incident affecting critical business services or assets.

Recovery Team – This team comprises of IT and operational staff and their senior managers whose role is to ensure resumption of critical services within their units using the laid-out plan.
